I.   Purpose

To establish standard guidelines to pay the annual membership dues to the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association for the Chief of each Company/Department that has membership in the Kent County Chiefs Association.

II. Definition

III. Policy

A.    It shall be the policy of the Kent County Chiefs Association to pay the annual membership dues to the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association in accordance with Kent County Chief’s Association S.O.G. 1-1-27.

IV. Guidelines

1. The Kent County Chief Association recognizes the importance and benefits of being a member of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association.

2. Some to benefit of being a member of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association.

3. 1. 10k Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance policy (Doubles to $20k for Line of Duty Death) through Provident

   2. Eligibility to apply for educational scholarships

   3. Eligibility to attend various leadership training opportunities

   4. Eligibility for membership in the Municipal Employees Credit Union (MECU)

   5. Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services

   6. Special member promotions

   7. Eligibility to participate on various committees and workgroups

   8. Option to order exclusive MFCA license plates from the Maryland MVA

3. The Kent County Chiefs Association shall pay the membership dues to the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association for the Chief of each Company/Department for period of one year.

4. The Chief from each Company/Department shall be responsible for paying their Maryland Fire Chiefs Association membership dues and then they shall submit a receipt to the Kent County Chiefs Association for reimbursement.

5. Once the individual is longer the Chief of their Company/Department it will be their responsibility to pay their annual membership dues to the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association to maintain Active Membership.
